Which tech products does Trade-in My Tech buy?

Trade-in My Tech buys all major brand cell phones included Apple, Samsung, Google, Motorola & LG. We also buy many other electronics including MacBooks, Microsoft Surfaces, iPads, Apple Watches and much more. How do you evaluate and price my tech product?

At Trade-In My Tech, we are very thorough in evaluating and pricing products so you get the most cash for your tech.  We promise that if you are fair in your device selection, we will be fair in our pricing! Here's what we do:

1. You select the model, carrier, condition and other attributes of your device.

2. Once we receive your item(s), our inspection team verifies the model, condition and other selected qualities match the original quote selection. Your device is also tested for full functionality, such as battery life, activation ability and general usability. And we make sure it is wiped of personal info.

3. If your items are as described, we will send you the amount that was committed for the trade. If your items aren't as described, we will re-quote your item and offer you a new value. You can accept the new value or request that we send the item back to you.

How will I be paid and how long will it take?

At Trade-In My Tech, get paid within days of receiving your item. During this time we process your device, verify all functionality and confirm the overall condition. After this process, your payment will be sent via Amazon eGift Card, Check, PayPal or ZelleYou will receive an email to notify you when your device has been accepted and payment was processed. 

Amazon eGift Card - Once your trade has been processed, an Amazon eGift Card will be sent to your account linked to the provided email address or phone number you provided.

Check - Once your trade has been processed, your check will be issued and mailed to your provided mailing address. Please allow 3-7 business days for the check to arrive via USPS mail. No tracking number is provided for the mailed check. If you do not receive your check within this time frame, please contact us and we will cancel the original check payment and submit a new one.

PayPal - Once your trade has been processed, your funds will be sent to your account linked to the email address or phone number you provided. Please note, PayPal requires a fee for their services ($0.30 + 2.9%) to be paid by the recipient.

Zelle - Once your trade has been processed, your funds will be sent to your account linked to the email address or phone number you provided.

What is a re-quote?

If Trade-in My Tech finds your device's condition is significantly different or the model selected is different than the original quote selection, you may receive a re-quote or a new offer based on the item's true value. Our inspection team will provide a new offer amount as well as an inspection report why the item's value was changed. You will have seven (7) days to accept or decline the new offer. If you accept, we will move forward and send you the new confirmed amount via your selected method of payment. If the new quote is not acceptable to you and the quote change is due to cosmetic condition only (example: 'Good' instead of 'Mint'), we will provide free return shipping if the condition is not noticeably different, however any extensive cosmetic damages will not receive a free return label. If the new quote is not acceptable to you and the quote change is due to functionality (example: 'Damaged' instead of 'Good') or due to a different model (example: different storage size or model), you will be responsible for return shipping by either providing a prepaid label or submitting a PayPal payment. All returned devices are sent back to the address on file of original trade-in order. If no response is given within the seven (7) day period, we will proceed and send you our revised quote amount via your selected method of payment.  If we find your device to not be authentic or is a reproduction, we will not process your order as our policy is to only purchase verified authentic items. Non-authentic devices are not subject to our free return policy and you must provide a pre-paid shipping method for us to return your item.

How does shipping work?

After you have accepted our offer and agreed to our terms to sell your device, we will send you a prepaid UPS Ground or USPS First Class shipping label, depending on the size of your item(s). Make sure that you properly and securely prepare and package your items so they don't get damaged in shipping. All packages come with $100 of prepaid insurance* and a trackable shipping label so you don't have to worry about a thing.  Simply take the package to a drop-off location for UPS or USPS (See below for drop-off locations), depending on which is on your label, be sure to request a receipt for tracking and then simply wait to get paid!

*We can't stress enough to make sure your items are properly packaged.  The $100 prepaid insurance covers damage due to shipping mishaps only. If your item(s) were not properly and securely packaged and further damage occurred during shipping due to poor packaging it is your responsibility not that of UPS. If this happens, we will re-quote your item(s) based on the condition we received them

Can I drop off in person?

Trade-In My Tech offers services through an online platform only with no local drop off locations. Every trade-in provides a free shipping label to send your item to us and we provide fast turn around of processing and payments.

Can I cancel my trade-in before or after I send the item(s)?

We understand a change of heart can occur after submitting a trade-in. If you have not sent the item(s) in for trade-in and you no longer want to send in the item(s), there is no obligation to do so and the trade-in will expire. But don't worry, if change your mind later on and want to sell again, we will always offer on the item(s) but it may be at a lower price. If you have already sent in a trade-in using our prepaid label and it is in transit or we have received it for processing, we are unable to cancel the trade-in process. Please be sure to consider this before sending in your item(s).

How do I prep my device for sale?

Before you securely package your phone for shipping, you need to remove your account locks and reset the device. Your ESN needs to be free and clear of any outstanding balances or payment plan terms. If Trade-in My Tech finds that there are outstanding balances and pending payment plans we will ship the phone back to you at your cost . We must receive prepaid shipping to return the item(s) back to you that are found to have ESNs with outstanding balances or pending payment plans. We do not purchase iCloud or Google locked devices and if you fail to remove the account locks or reset the device, we will reach out to have them removed. If we do not hear from you within 14 days and the account has not been removed, the device will be recycled and no payment will be processed.

How do I reset my device before I ship it?

Apple

Step 1: Go to the Settings menu in your device.

Step 2: Find the General setting, then scroll to the bottom to find Reset.

Step 3: In the Reset setting, select Erase All Content and Settings.

Step 4: Ensure you enter your password for you iCloud account to property remove it.

Android

Step 1: Go to the Settings menu in your device.

Step 2: Find the Backup & Reset setting.

Step 3: Select Factory Date Reset, then Reset.

Step 4: Ensure you enter any passwords for your Google or Samsung account to properly remove it.

MacBook

Step 1: Go to the Apple icon in to top left corner.

Step 2: Select System Preferences... and then click iCloud.

Step 3: Click the Sign Out button and deselect the "Find My Mac" option.

Step 4: You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID information to remove it.

Step 5: You will next need to reset and reformat your computer by following these steps.

Step 1: Select the Start button in the bottom left corner.

Step 2: Go to the Settings section, then Update & Recovery, then select Recovery.

Step 3: Under Reset This PC, select Get Started, and then the Remove Everything selection.

How do I know if my ESN clear for activation?

At Trade-In My Tech, we verify all devices have a clear ESN and can be reactivated with a new owner. This is a 15 digit serial number typically found in the settings of your device. Please contact your carrier to verify your device has a clear ESN for activation with no remaining balance owed on the device. You can also check HERE to verify your phone has a clear ESN. If your device is not eligible for reactivation or there is an unpaid balance on the device, it will be re-quoted or returned to you. Trade-In My Tech does not purchase any device that is found to be lost or stolen.

What is your e-waste policy?

Trade-in My Tech was founded to help give unwanted tech products a new life. We repair and reuse old devices to be made into new products.  We pay you in exchange for your old unwanted device and we responsibly re-purpose them. It's a win-win for you and our planet.
